PARTAGAS 1845 EXTRA OSCURO | CIGAR REVIEW

Updated: Dec 25, 2022

DECEMBER 18, 2022 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

PARTAGAS 1845 EXTRA OSCURO TORO (6 1/8 x 50)

WRAPPER: CONNECTICUT HABANO OSCURO

BINDER: DOMINICAN LA VEGA ESPECIAL

FILLER: DOMINICAN LIGERO, NICARAGUAN LIGERO

Charred meat, charcoal, leather, bits of dark chocolate, and touches of cherry pour in and back out from a steady, thick stream of smoke. The 1845 is smoky.

Charcoal and leather stick around in the retrohale, and it’s a dark finish - charred meat and dark chocolate…mostly dark chocolate.

1845’s charcoal, which wasn’t necessarily overly offensive, has subsided. In fact, all the dark edges have been smoothed down a bit. That type of duller edge would never suffice for a YouTube unboxing video, in which a tactical ninja sword is required to pierce a single layer of packing tape.

A floral note and edamame continue to add smoothness. Nice. Some ginger and burnt chocolate brownie edges come in as well.

1845 draws smoothly and burns straight.

Darkness returns, and, unfortunately, brings some harshness with it towards the end.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 30 mins.

RATING: 2.75 / 4 - Darkness returns.
