LA GLORIA CUBANA GRAN LEGADO | CIGAR REVIEW

SEPTEMBER 2, 2024 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

LA GLORIA CUBANA GRAN LEGADO (7 3/4 x 62)

WRAPPER: CONNECTICUT BROADLEAF MADURO

BINDER: NICARAGUA

FILLER: NICARAGUA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Gran Legado’s perfectly smooth draw puts a smile on my face. The smoke output is equally impressive, especially after the foot opens up. Full steam ahead.

Earth, spice, a leather/coffee combo, and subtle sweetness get things started.

Earth and light coffee blow through the nose. A slightly dirty coffee hangs on the finish along with a much more dominant yet balanced spice.

I typically don’t include the stories of the cigars I review, and I won’t venture from that habit, but you might check the Gran Legado’s story. I also don’t always comment on the bands, but I dig these bands. Classic and classy.

Gran Legado’s solid ash holds on well to a wavy burn line, which required regular smoke rolls™ and a minor burn touch-up near the end. In fairness, it had to compete with some wind throughout.

Dark chocolate, suede, and wood flow from the foot.

Milk chocolate, sweet tobacco, dark chocolate, and a touch of cola here and there find their way in near the half and continue to the end. The finish starts to get a little creamy and welcomes leather and dark chocolate.

I dig it. Hats off to the buncher and roller.

SMOKE TIME: 2 hrs. 43 mins.

RATING: 3.5 / 4 - Classic and classy.
