DIESEL VINTAGE SERIES NATURAL | CIGAR REVIEW

MAY 16, 2024 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

DIESEL VINTAGE SERIES NATURAL ROBUSTO GORDO (5 x 56)

WRAPPER: ECUADORIAN HABANO

BINDER: NICARAGUAN HABANO

FILLER: NICARAGUA

Creamy cedar and hints of sweetness and spice pull smoothly. A fairly clean finish begins sweet and creamy before allowing a layer of spice to settle in. The retrohale sticks with a subtle cedar for now.

Smoke would easily fill the shed, but I’m outside again today. Beautiful weather.

The foot has a bit of caramel flowing. Maybe I’ll catch some of that in the draw a little later. Stay tuned.

The burn line is straight enough for me. “Straight enough for me” sounds like something a desperate lady might say about a guy she’s trying to date shortly after he was released from prison. So, “Straight enough for me.” That’s what she said.

Caramel and earth quietly make their way into the mix on the draw. Creaminess and spice begin to fade. Coffee takes over the retrohale and finish.

Near the end, a smoke roll™ and my lighter keep the burn moving along. No big deal.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 22 mins.

RATING: 3 / 4 - Straight enough for me.
