CROWNED HEADS FOUR KICKS MULE KICK LIMITED EDITION 2022 | CIGAR REVIEW

JUNE 26, 2022 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

CROWNED HEADS FOUR KICKS MULE KICK LE 2022 (5 7/8 x 52)

WRAPPER: MEXICAN SAN ANDRÉS

BINDER: NICARAGUA

FILLER: NICARAGUA

Coffee, oak, earth, dark chocolate, and leather are Mule's first steps. The draw and smoke output compete for 1st place. Coffee, butter, and oak hit the nose on the retrohale. Keto? I have no idea.

The finish meanders with coffee and spice. The latter lingers much longer and allows sweetness to slowly develop prior to the next draw.

Chocolate, wood, a nearly undetectable spice, dark stone fruit, and the smoothest of leather rise from the foot of the cigar. I might get lost out in the shed today.

Creamy milk chocolate and dark cherry begin to comfortably situate themselves. Delicious.

The finish transforms itself into a creamy mixture of coffee, spice, and dark cherry. Delicious.

Mule’s superb creaminess continues lending itself well, adding form to dark cherry and dark chocolate. I would say delicious again, but it’s getting redundant, even though it’s true.

Dark cherry combines with wood and spice in the retrohale, and the finish dances nearly forever with coffee, dark chocolate, spice, and wood, which all rest easily on a pleasant creamy bed.

I’ve written a few times about not being a fan of most limited editions, and at the risk of jinxing this cigar, Mule seems to be what limited editions should be, which would be something exceptional. Crazy idea.

Mouthwatering.

Butter waltzes in on top of the solid foundation dark cherry and dark chocolate firmly built. Wood takes on a supporting role in just the right measure. Creaminess fades, but I’ve got plenty to keep me company.

My nostrils are treated with butter, dark cherry, and wood, smoothly flowing through…like butter.

The finish keeps me from rushing to the next pull, as coffee, dark chocolate, dark cherry, and the quietest spice do a killer job entertaining.

Burn touch-ups. Who needs 'em? Not Mule.

If there’s a cigar worthy of Led Zeppelin AND Johnny Cash, the Mule might be it.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 50 mins.

RATING: 3.75 / 4 - Mule kicked…in a good way.
