COHIBA RIVIERA LANCERO | CIGAR REVIEW

JUNE 30, 2024 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

COHIBA RIVIERA LANCERO (7 x 38)

WRAPPER: MEXICAN SAN ANDRÉS

BINDER: HONDURAN CONNECTICUT

FILLER: HONDURAS, NICARAGUA

The Riviera immediately dispels any concerns about a snug draw from a lancero. It has a perfect draw and a voluminous smoke output. Notes are pleasant but a bit mixed and swirled together at the start. There’s some plum, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee, and spice tumblin’ around, in and out, and all about in there.

Spice overwhelms the finish, covering the palate and throat. A little bit of coffee and dark chocolate are able to sneak through. Coffee, plum, and a dash of muddled chocolate flow through the retrohale.

The slightest touch of cinnamon finds its way into the mix, which remains to be somewhat melded all together.

Solid ash holds firm to a straight burn line.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 32 mins.

RATING: 3 / 4 - Tumblin’ around.
