CASA 1910 SAMPETRINA | CIGAR REVIEW

APRIL 30, 2023 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

CASA 1910 SAMPETRINA ROBUSTO (5 x 50)

WRAPPER: CONNECTICUT

BINDER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

FILLER: MEXICO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Spice with a suggestion of sweet cream, both lying on a slightly creamy texture, introduce Sampetrina. Through the nose, soft coffee and spice join together with a smooth entry and exit. The finish holds on to the spice, drops any sweetness, and adds in the slightest touches of coffee and leather. Much less on the leather.

Effortless draw with a hefty smoke output. Dense, solid ash holds on well, breaks off clean.

Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” bounces around my head. Yesterday, my daughter was playing it in the car as she sang along with it...several times. Lately, she's been on a Whitney Houston kick. Anyway.

Wood, earth, and vanilla float in the air.

What was once just a general sweetness on the pulls slowly becomes smooth vanilla. Spice decreases all around.

Sampetrina keeps my writing time fairly brief, as she performs consistently, which, as I’ve said many times before, consistency is equally as admirable as complexity.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 31 mins.

RATING: 3.25 / 4 - She’s consistent.
