CAO ARCANA THUNDER SMOKE | CIGAR REVIEW

SEPTEMBER 29, 2024 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

CAO ARCANA THUNDER SMOKE TORO (6 1/2 x 52)

WRAPPER: HONDURAN OLANCHO SAN AUGUSTIN

BINDER: MEXICAN SAN ANDRÉS

FILLER: SOUTH AFRICA, ZIMBABWE, CAMEROON

Thunder smoke begins as an earth-heavy smoke. Some sweetness hangs around the outskirts. The same can be said for the finish and retrohale.

Sweetness begins to clearly identify itself as raisin. Not sure if there’s a pronoun for that.

The burn line isn’t necessarily an issue as much as the wrapper isn’t burning well and this Thunder Smoke is consistently tunneling, forcing me to puff more frequently than usual and/or hit the wrapper with the lighter to keep it burning well.

I’m not a fan of working to smoke a cigar.

In case anyone is wondering how I store my cigars, what humidity I keep them, and on and on…Well, this one was stored the same as every cigar that hasn’t tunneled.

On the upside, earth and raisin remained consistent, and I even got some coffee, spice, and cream. There were also notes of light-headedness.

The draw was right up the middle. Literally right up the middle.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 38 mins.

RATING: 2 / 4 - Right up the middle.
