BOLIVAR COFRADIA OSCURO | CIGAR REVIEW

AUGUST 31, 2024 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

BOLIVAR COFRADIA OSCURO ROBUSTO (5 x 54)

WRAPPER: USA CONNECTICUT BROADLEAF

BINDER: ECUADORIAN SUMATRA

FILLER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, NICARAGUA, HONDURAS

Earth smoothly flows into a deep, creamy chocolate which melts from dark to milk. Clean, unobtrusive spice provides the foundation, and a subtle vegetal note catches the exit.

The retrohale resides in a slightly darker and sharper space, dropping a touch of leather along with mild coffee while holding on to some of that chocolate from the pull.

A dry finish plays with spice, creamy chocolate, more milk than dark, and earth.

Ash flakes quite a bit but stays put until I roll some off the burn line, which requires some smoke rolling™ to keep things on track. Easy enough.

Creaminess fades, but everything else stays solidly in place. No crazy transitions. Sometimes less crazy is good.

Smooth draw, excellent smoke output. No complaints.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 31 mins.

RATING: 3.25 / 4 - Less crazy is good.
