AJ FERNANDEZ SMALL BATCH ANIVERSARIO | CIGAR REVIEW

NOVEMBER 8, 2024 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

AJ FERNANDEZ SMALL BATCH ANIVERSARIO TORO (6 x 50)

WRAPPER: NICARAGUAN MEDIO-TIEMPO HABANO

BINDER: NICARAGUA

FILLER: NICARAGUA

Spice hits first and hangs like a champ, enhancing dried fruit, wood, and milk chocolate that join it. Perfect draw with the right amount of resistance. Smoke fills the shed.

Flowing through the retrohale, earth, milk chocolate, and wood speak separately and smoothly. The finish is sweet and spicy. Sweetness leans towards dried fruit with a dash of chocolate.

Notes of wood, leather, citrus, and spice dance off the foot, giving the shed quite a pleasant aroma.

Spice begins to taper off. Par for the course. Sweet cream splashes around the palate from time to time.

A few burn touch-ups keep things moving along.

Mocha flows through the pulls and begins to linger on the finish, and I have no complaints about that.

AJ Fernandez has created another dependable buddy.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 53 mins.

RATING: 3.5 / 4 - A dependable buddy.
