ADVENTURA THE ROYAL RETURN KING'S GOLD | CIGAR REVIEW

AUGUST 25, 2021 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

ADVENTURA THE ROYAL RETURN KING’S GOLD CORONA (6 x 44)

WRAPPER: CONNECTICUT BROADLEAF

BINDER: MEXICAN SAN ANDRÉS

FILLER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, USA, NICARAGUA

The ADVentura The Royal Return King’s Gold has a lot of names. Maybe not the most names but a lot. Anyway. Aside from being a bit bumpy in spots, the King’s Gold has a nice brown wrapper with a touch of toothiness to it. King’s Gold is my nickname for this cigar. I suppose I could have gone with something like KG or Slim, but I didn’t. Actually, scratch that. Let’s go with Slim.

Slim’s band is an eye catcher for me. I dig it. It’s a hefty bugger too.

Slim hits me with chocolate, wood, earth, and raisin right from light up. Coffee passes through on the retrohale, and the finish offers up coffee, sweetness, earth, plain popcorn, and a touch of spice.

Slim draws and produces smoke like a champ.

Slim’s foot smoke fills the room with the aromas of wood, chocolate, and spice.

Earth, raisin, and coffee entertain through the first third. The retrohale mainly showcases earth, but there’s a hint of spiced chocolate that’s quite enjoyable when it decides to speak up.

The finish provides a nice closing of chocolate, coffee, leather, and just that touch of spice, which I have a feeling is going to be sticking around for a while. And, that spice stays right in line with the other players.

Into the second third, and earth, sweetness, and coffee keep Slim honest. The raisin quality has fallen off in place of that general sweetness. Earth and leather mingle on the retrohale.

The finish opts to drop the sweetness found in the chocolate, and now Slim keeps it to coffee, leather, and, again, that touch of spice. The level of spice on the finish is about as consistent as a cigar can get. Slim’s spice is unwavering. Staying right on point. Brave?

As of now, not a single burn touch-up, and the draw and smoke output are perfect.

As Slim and I begin to wind down our conversation, he drops in the slightest hint of chocolate with earth, sweetness, and leather through the final third. Well done.

Earth and leather continue on through the retrohale.

Coffee, earth, and, you guessed it, just that nice touch of spice keep the finish

smooth and enjoyable.

Slim seems like a heck of a guy. You should look him up.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 51 mins.

RATING: 3.25 / 4 - This cigar lived up to all of its names.
